Terms of Use
The conditions that apply whenever you use this website or submit something through it.
Status of this website
This site is a transitional website built in preparation for the term of Sheriff-Elect Michael A. Tulipat, which begins in January 2027. It is not currently the official public safety portal of Esmeralda County, and it does not replace the county's official website or the current sheriff's administration.
Nothing on this site should be relied on as legal advice or as a substitute for contacting law enforcement directly.
Not for emergencies
This website is not monitored continuously and must never be used to report an emergency, a crime in progress, a medical need, or a fire. Call 911 in those situations. Reliance on any form here in an emergency can delay help.
Accurate submissions
Information you submit through the reporting forms becomes part of an official record of the sheriff's office. You must provide information that is true and complete to the best of your knowledge.
Knowingly filing a false report with a law enforcement agency is a criminal offense under NRS 207.280, and misuse of these forms may be referred for prosecution.
Acceptable use
Do not use this site to harass another person, to submit unlawful content, to attempt unauthorized access to the internal portal or any other system, to interfere with the operation of the site, or to conduct automated scraping or bulk submissions.
The internal employee portal is restricted to authorized personnel of the Esmeralda County Sheriff's Office. Unauthorized access attempts are logged and may be prosecuted under state and federal computer crime law.
Accuracy and availability
Content on this site is provided for general information and can change without notice. The office works to keep information current but does not warrant that every page is complete, accurate, or up to date at any given moment.
Service may be interrupted for maintenance, connectivity problems, or events outside the office's control. Submissions cannot be considered received until you see a confirmation screen with a reference number.
Links to other sites
Links to county, state, federal, and partner agency websites are provided as a convenience. The office does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Nevada law, Esmeralda County and the sheriff's office are not liable for damages arising from use of this website or reliance on its content. Nothing here waives any immunity or defense available to the county under NRS Chapter 41 or other law.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be revised as the site develops toward full operation. Continued use of the site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
