We collect only the information you choose to give us through the forms on this site. Depending on the form, that can include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, property address, travel dates, and the narrative details of an incident you are reporting.

The anonymous tip form does not require any identifying information. If you leave the contact field blank, we have no way to identify you from the submission itself.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party trackers, analytics profiling, or social media pixels on this website. The only browser storage this site uses is what is strictly necessary to keep an employee signed in to the internal portal, which is why no cookie consent banner is presented.

Information submitted through this site is used to respond to your request, investigate reported incidents, deliver records, schedule patrol checks, evaluate employment interest, and meet the reporting obligations of a Nevada law enforcement agency.

We do not sell information, rent it, or share it with commercial third parties. We do not use submissions for marketing.

The sheriff's office is a public agency. Records held by this office, including some information you submit here, may be subject to disclosure under the Nevada Public Records Act, NRS Chapter 239, or through the criminal discovery process.

Certain categories are confidential by law, including active investigative material, juvenile records, and specific victim and witness information. Do not submit information through this website that you need to remain confidential without first speaking with a deputy.

Information may also be shared with other law enforcement agencies, the district attorney, courts, and emergency services when the circumstances require it.

Submissions travel over an encrypted connection and are stored in an access-controlled database. Internal access is restricted by role, so employees can only see the records their assignment requires, and access to sensitive records is logged.

No system is perfectly secure. We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information involved.

Records are retained according to the retention schedules that apply to Nevada law enforcement agencies and county government. Retention periods vary by record type; incident reports are generally retained far longer than routine service requests.

We send email only in response to something you submitted or an account you hold with the office: confirmations, status updates, records responses, and employment correspondence. We do not send newsletters, promotional messages, or bulk mailings, and we do not add your address to any marketing list.

Employees of the office who receive account notifications may adjust or stop those notifications from within the internal portal.

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children through it. A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted information should contact the office so the submission can be reviewed.

You are never required to use this website. Every service offered here can also be handled by phone, by mail, or in person.
